Accessing School Meals at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø ISD
AISD provides breakfast and lunch daily at all schools, as well as after-school and summer meals at many eligible campuses.
Through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program, many AISD schools offer free breakfast and lunch to all students. Students attending schools that are not eligible for CEP receive meals based on their meal status: free, reduced-price, or paid.
Students may qualify for free or reduced-price meals through state-funded programs or by completing an AISD household meal benefits application. Learn more here. Students who do not qualify for free or reduced-price meals may purchase school breakfast and lunch meals at a minimal cost.
No registration is required for students to eat school meals. Students can simply go through the serving line during designated breakfast and lunch times and select their meal components. Café staff may ask students to enter their student ID number at the register. Students with reduced-price or paid meal status may pay with cash or use funds available in their account. No funds are needed for students with a free meal status, unless they would like to purchase à la carte items.
AISD school meal programs are federally funded through the Texas Department of Agriculture’s School Breakfast Program (SBP), National School Lunch Program (NSLP), Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), and Seamless Summer Option (SSO). Our menus follow federal nutrition standards, including required meal components, nutrition guidelines, and serving sizes established for school meal programs.

Students enrolled at schools participating in the federally funded CEP program automatically receive free meals without any application or documentation. We do not collect or process meal applications from students enrolled in CEP schools.

Breakfast in the Classroom
AISD is proud to offer free Breakfast in the Classroom (BIC) at many eligible schools throughout the district. BIC is a room service-style program that helps ensure all students have the opportunity to start their day with a healthy meal.
Food Service staff prepares, packs, and delivers breakfast meal components to classrooms each morning. Teachers bring in the insulated bags and coolers, allowing students to serve themselves and enjoy a free meal with their classmates after the start of the school day.
When we move breakfast from the cafeteria to the classroom we serve more students each morning, while seeing a decrease in behavioral problems and better attendance. Research also finds that students who eat school breakfast show improvements in concentration and overall academic performance. BIC creates real-life learning experiences, helps in community building between students and teachers, and removes the stigma often associated with school breakfast.

Lunch
We offer a variety of healthy, delicious lunch options served daily in the cafeterias at every AISD school. Learn more about lunch at AISD here. View lunch menus for your school at .
Lunch times, schedules, and visitor policies are determined by campus administration.
After-School Meals
In addition to breakfast and lunch, AISD provides free after-school meals at many schools. After-school meal programs at AISD operate under the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), a USDA federally funded program that offers evening meals to qualified campuses. Meals served at AISD meet the nutrition requirements established by the CACFP.
After-school programs that participate in the CACFP give children and teenagers the nutrition they need, and draw them into constructive activities that are safe, fun, and filled with opportunities for learning.
Campuses that are interested in participating in offering after-school meals or snacks should complete the form below and submit to their Cafeteria Manager. AISD Food Service will determine eligibility upon receiving the application and will notify the Program Coordinator before program feeding can begin.
