ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø ISD's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship is guided by Board policy, long-range planning, operational leadership, and continuous improvement. These efforts help ensure responsible stewardship of district resources while creating healthy learning environments for students and staff. 

Board Policy

The Board of Trustees solidified its support for sustainability and environmental stewardship with the adoption of a 2010 Resolution and . The district’s first sustainability staff was hired in 2014. 

In 2018, the first Sustainability Plan was created to support the Board’s commitment to:

  • Ensure responsible stewardship of energy, water, and other natural resources;
  • Create healthy environments for teaching and learning;
  • Support sustainability as an economic, environmental, and social priority to be taught and practiced throughout the District.
